Richard has been in the financial services industries since 1996 in Huntsville and Decatur, Alabama. He started with Oak Tree Financial Services in March of 2017 and has been with LPL since 2013. Richard takes great pride in assisting clients with their financial planning and helping them pursue their investment goals. He believes in building strong relationships with clients and their families and wants to make complex financial issues easier to understand through education. The more the clients know the better decisions they will make. He also understands the need to remove emotions, as much as possible, from the decision process. This can be accomplished by using “Rules Based” or “Fact Based” investing. Richard employs several outside research providers for their expertise in this area which helps the risk management in the client's investment portfolios.
Richard is a 1988 graduate from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and a 1984 graduate from Huntsville High. After college Richard worked with Ernst and Young, a “Big 8” public accounting firm as an auditor. He then worked as a corporate accountant and ran several small companies that he owned.
